Viewpoints, Castle and lake around the campsite

Departure from the campsite for Cessieu (22km).


Park on Chemin du Bessay (you will see a few parking spaces).

Then join the Ruy road again to take the path that will bring you to the Chapelle St Joseph (550 meters) where you will have a superb panorama.





You can see the Vercors, the Chartreuse...


Then, direction Biol 25km: Viewpoint indicator: Montée du Belvédère 38690 Biol

Park on the side of the road or in the parking next to the Church (before the climb).

The viewpoint is located 100m from the stele commemorating the passage of the Americans over the Commune of Biol in 1944. You can see the Mont Blanc from this orientation table.



Then take the road again towards Bigallet. https://www.bigallet.fr/fr/

Since 1872, the Bigallet family has perpetuated the art of making fruit and plant-based syrups and liqueurs.

The factory shop welcomes you from Monday to Thursday from 8am to 12pm and from 2pm to 6pm, and Friday from 8am to 12pm. Closed on public holidays and exceptional closure on Friday 27 May.




On the first floor of the shop, you can independently watch a film presenting the Bigallet company, from its origins to its current values, olfactory tests are offered to you, as well as old plates, account books from the beginning of the 20th century. century or even "vintage" bottles.






Then I suggest you, 1 minute from Bigallet to eat at the restaurant "la guinguette" in Panissage. https://la-guinguette-restaurant-chambres.com/restaurant-la-guinguette-isere-38/

A small village restaurant with a very nice terrace under the trees.


They will propose you, two starters, two main courses and two desserts of the day, all based on fresh and local products.



1.4 km from the restaurant, I suggest you to visit the Castle of Virieu.

The castle is open to the public from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Every weekend and public holidays from Easter to All Saints' Day

Every day except Monday in July and August

Prices 8 euros (6 euros under 16 and free under 6)

Family package 19 euros (1 or 2 parents with their children on proof)








3.5km from the castle, you can also buy fresh cheeses at the Cayonnière farm.

Please note, the goat farm is open on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday: 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

And Sunday 9h-12h.







Then head for Lac de Paladru/Charavines (8km3).

Between beaches and Green route , everything is available to spend a moment of relaxation and discovery in the open air!

Paying supervised beaches:

Charavines beach, Paladru beach, Montferrat beach and Le Pin beach.

Green Route on the East shore of lake Paladru :

Do you fancy a walk in beautifully preserved countryside, a relaxing time with your family, a panoramic stroll? The green route lets you discover Lake Paladru from the north to the south! A 7km trail from Charavines to Paladru, with access to 3 beaches, 2 amazing rest-stops et 1 endangered nature reserve.




For a meal or to drink a cocktail, I recommend you the Bahia in Charavinesw with nice view on the lake :


The last stop that I really appreciated before returning is the view from the three crosses, you will have a view on the lake of Paladru as well as an orientation table where you can see the Mont Blanc on clear day.
